The Area IV Senior Nutrition Project is governed by a Private Non-Profit Board of Directors. The Area Four Senior Citizens Planning Council Inc. has been designated a 501 C-3 organization by the Internal Revenue Service. We were incorporated in the State of South Dakota in 1973 and our principle place of business is located in Aberdeen South Dakota.

"The Area Four Senior Citizens Planning Council, Inc. has been organized for charitable and educational purposes, to provide and promote social and educational services and activities which help the elderly remain independent and to stay in their own homes for many years to come, and to enrich their social activities so they don't feel so alone.

It is always a pleasure to serve them and know we have had a helping hand in providing them a little security and comfort. Hopefully we can do so for many more years to come."

-Rick Pesek, Past-Director

The Project encompasses a 13 county area and representatives from all members counties are represented on the Board of Directors. Any person 60 years of age or older who resides in the designated project area is automatically deemed a member of the corporation and is eligible to participate in the Annual Meeting of the Board of Directors.

28 communities (34 serving locations) are currently receiving meal service through the Project and each community has the opportunity to participate in the program's governance via local advisory councils called site councils.
