Redlin Art Center Announcement...

Saturday, August 7th and Sunday, August 8th, 2004, “America’s Most Popular Artist”, Terry Redlin, will be appearing at the Redlin Art Center in Watertown, South Dakota. During this special 2-day event, Redlin will unveil his new series of seven paintings! This will be the first time the series will be viewed by the public.

The collection of paintings has been in the works since 1997. Inspired by the artists’ personal experiences, the paintings capture the emotion of seven “heartfelt firsts”. Together, these individual paintings create “An American Portrait”.

For true fans and collectors of Terry Redlin's work, the series "America the Beautiful" continues to touch us...move us, many of us to tears. According to Charles Redlin, son of the artist, "The new series is even more emotional than the 'America' series".

The unveiling event will begin mid-morning on Saturday, August 7th and Terry Redlin will arrive to meet, greet, and sign for his fans later that afternoon.

The nationally recognized, chart-topping group, Mannheim Steamroller, will give a special concert on the grounds of the Redlin Art Center following the signing event on Saturday evening. This concert is a gift from Chip Davis, the group’s founder, to Terry Redlin. The two artists have collaborated on other projects including one of Mannheim Steamroller’s latest CD’s, “American Spirit”. Davis said, “When it came time to decide what we should use to represent the feeling inside the jewel box on the CD, it was immediately apparent that only one great American artist, also from the Midwest, would give us the art representative of the music and the sentiment…Terry Redlin. Terry gave us his image and his friendship for ‘American Spirit’. We want to give back.”

The finale of the event on August 7th will be a spectacular fireworks display. This all-American tribute is sure to fill the hearts of all who see it with American pride! Sunday, August 8th, the day will begin with skydivers jumping over the Redlin Art Center, bringing the American flag in on their backs. Following the jump, visitors will be invited to participate in an outdoor prayer service on the grounds of the Redlin Art Center.

Terry Redlin will return early Sunday afternoon to again greet his fans during a 2-hour signing event. Admission to the 2-day event is free of charge. The outdoor concert and fireworks finale will be held weather permitting. For more information, please visit www.redlinart.com or call toll-free 1-877-TREDLIN.

MANNHEIM STEAMROLLER PUTS FORTH “AMERICAN SPIRIT,” A HEARTFELT MUSICAL TRIBUTE TO AMERICA…

Chip Davis, composer and creator of Mannheim Steamroller says, “We came up with the concept for AMERICAN SPIRIT late last summer at the request of fans, which was to make an album reflecting what it means to be an American. In the process, I realized that many of our country’s greatest national songs, like “America The Beautiful,” have not been updated in the last 30 years. I just had to invite the man who has been called the greatest storyteller of all time, Bill Fries (the voice of C.W. McCall) to do the narration of these songs. Together with the backdrop of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, the record is breathtaking.”
